Wandering around the auction house this morning with my interior designer eyes wide open I found this signed original Thomas Moser Wing Settee in fantastic condition. Solid Cherry wood curved armrests, wood polish to satin perfection, 4 ” thick cushions, which need recovering, very comfortable sitting due to its gently cantilevered back. This is craftsmanship at its best.

Price for a brand new one is $5,000 while this one is available for $ 850

For example Imagine your sofa and chairs slip covered in a white or cream linen, a bright red Tabouret or Hourglass side table by BUNGALOW5 on either side, find a bunch of throw pillows in a fabric, which has this red and other colors in it. Add green plants as the opposite to red and you created a stylish and colorful vignette .

How about the other way around? A white or black bed and two of these chest of drawers on either side and a headboard upholstered with a big and bold Marimekko fabric, crisp white linen with a couple of red patterned throw pillows Add a red carpet.

SPRING into Action

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE FEELING OF SPRING
Don’t you love it, when the days are lighter, the sun brighter, the air warmer? Spring is the promise of summer. We stretch and throw down the winter blankets. We take deep breaths and feel so energized.

And we want to start Spring Cleaning – or maybe not.

But at least let’s get the winter blues out of the house…..

ROOM REFRESHER
On my list from small to bigger projects, start with one room only. Pick one room, any room.

Get a white file-box from an office supply store and fill it with all the decorative things covering horizontal surfaces. You might need two or three boxes. Don’t hesitate. You can always put some of the items back. Then look around and see how that feels. I bet, it feels good. Label the box and put it away for the time being.

Reward yourself with a big bunch of spring flowers in your favorite colors. At home distribute them in three different sized and shaped vases. For example find a tall flared vase, a medium tall globe-shaped vase and a short bud vase, cutting the stems accordingly. Distribute them in the room as you see fit.

Welcome to my first blog post. I am very excited about the beginning of a journey, which includes you. You are obviously interested in living gracefully.

I want to supply valuable ideas, tips and stories for you and I encourage you to give me feedback, when you agree or disagree on something.
