Concept Development
Living in a beautiful home is important to you and you appreciate well designed rooms.
Designing your home starts with finding the story or theme for the interior design of a home. This is the foundation for the cohesive look you want for your home. Once the concept is found, everything else falls into place: colors tiles, stone, flooring, lighting, furnishings and fabrics
The most common style concepts in California are “Mediterranean”, “Arts & Crafts ”, “Contemporary” , “Belgian Farmhouse” to just name a few.
Then there are personalized design styles like “The Hamptons with a Twist” or “Contemporary Cottage” both of which I have developed and designed for clients of mine among other personalized concepts.
Space Planning
Designing the flow of your spaces, the spaces themselves, the furniture layout and your storage areas. Real Estate is too expensive to waste even inches.
Kitchen and Bath Design
A well designed and beautiful kitchen is probably the most desired element in every house.
It starts with a well planned layout, choosing the right plumbing fixtures and fittings, figuring out cabinetry style and finish, and then the most difficult of all: to find the right stone and tile materials for your remodel from a myriad of choices.
We can do it fast and right, so you can save time and money.
Moldings and Trims
Finding the appropriate moldings to frame ceilings, doors, and windows, to decorate walls with wood panels, selecting or custom designing the appropriate stair case, railings and fireplaces is the architectural icing on the cake.
Home Office
Imagine having a home office where everything has its place. It is beautiful, and well planned. You love working in it, which increases productivity and saves you time overall.
Custom Storage
Custom designed built-in storage cabinets, entertainments centers, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, wine cellar cabinetry are our specialty.
Construction Guidance to Answer Questions From Your Contractor
Once the plans are underway and you have signed on a contractor, the building begins and so will the questions.
The less complete the plan is the more questions you have to face when they arise the minute the contractor or his sub is about to built it. How should the tile be laid out? How does the tile butt up to the window sill? How this material does meet the glass tile at this edge? How do we finish the edge of the pony-wall?
Just to name a few typical questions….The contractor will make all these design decisions, if there is no one available with answers. As little as you want a designer to build your home you don’t want your contractor to design your interiors. An interior designer is your insurance that the construction will follow through with the concept in all its details.
The Decorative Phase
For most people this is the “fun” stuff. For the designer this phase is the continuation of translating the concept (the story) into the appropriate furnishings, color palette fabrics window treatments, decorative lighting, rugs and accessories.
Custom Furniture
You choose, together we design it, local crafts people build it. The result is a unique master piece nobody else has, an heirloom for you and future generations to enjoy.
